Classes/Rehearsals

*Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before class, and wait for the instructor to open the door before your child goes in. Dancers should be in the proper uniform with their shoes kept in a dance bag, as dance shoes shouldn’t be worn outside. After class, the Director will open the door for students to leave, and they must be picked up right away. Instructors are not allowed to take students anywhere—only parents or guardians can do that.

Dancers should switch out of their street shoes in the designated area before stepping onto the dance floor, and heels aren’t allowed in the studio. Be sure your dance bag has a closed-cap water bottle, hair ties, and your dance shoes. Food and gum aren’t allowed, except during long rehearsals, classes, or camps. If you forget water, you can buy a bottle with cash or have it charged to your account by an instructor. Try to use the restroom before class starts.

No jewelry or cell phones are allowed in the classroom. Jewelry poses a safety risk, and cell phones should be set to silent and stored in your dance bag.

Students should show respect to instructors, classmates, dance families, independent contractors, seasonal staff, and any companies the studio partners with. Abuse, bullying, slander, or misrepresentation won’t be tolerated. If any problems come up, reach out to the Director right away to resolve them. If such behavior happens, the Director may end services with the student immediately.

Parents, siblings, and guardians are welcome in the dance space only by invitation, such as during Observation Days or Costume Try-On Week. The space is reserved just for dancing, and if your dancer needs help, the Director will personally invite you inside.

If a student can’t make it to class, just send a message on WhatsApp to 956-589-0002. All dance families need to use this app for studio communication.

If only one student shows up for a class, it will be treated as a private lesson and run for half the usual class time.

Any items, such as clothing, shoes, or costumes, left at the studio for 30 days or more will be donated to a local donation bin or community group.

Any missed classes can be made up within three months with the nearest suitable level for the dancer.

Payment

All studio payments are processed through Sawyer, powered by Stripe, except for tickets, sponsorship posters, dance uniforms and shoes, and portraits.

Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month, and payments made after the 7th will incur a $15 late fee through the Sawyer online portal. Classes each month are based on four weeks of instruction.

The Fall Dance Event 2026 and Spring Dance Performance 2027 have extra fees in addition to the regular monthly tuition. Costs for participation, costumes, tickets, sponsorship posters, and portraits are spread over 3–4 months. Parents can register their child for these programs through the online portal, with payments automatically processed on the 15th of each month. If a student doesn’t participate for any reason, there are no refunds or credits. Any rehearsal costs will be deducted from the amount paid, and the student will receive any fully paid costumes.

A $45 registration fee is due at the time of enrollment and covers the period from September 2026 to August 2027.

Once payment is received, no refunds or credits will be issued. Students can make up any missed class within three months.

Uniform

All dance classes have a uniform policy that must be followed. The Ballet/Jazz uniform is ordered through the studio. Hair should be tied back in a ponytail, away from the face. Jewelry, jeans, and pajamas are not allowed, and neither are heels or shoes with sharp soles. Tops and bottoms must be solid colors without prints, designs, or logos, except for the studio’s logo t-shirt. Dance shoes should be kept in a dance bag, and dancers must change into them in the designated area before stepping onto the studio floor.

Weather and Emergency

If bad weather makes it hard for our dance families to get to the studio, classes for that day or night will be canceled and rescheduled for another date. Everyone will get a text from the WhatsApp number 956-589-0002. If the instructor has an emergency and needs to cancel or reschedule, a text will also be sent from that same number.

Safety

The dance studio has a zero-tolerance policy for things like abuse, alcohol, bullying, illegal items, misrepresentation, loitering, protesting, handing out political flyers, selling or promoting products, slander, smoking, and soliciting. This rule applies to everyone—dance families, the Director and staff, independent contractors, freelancers, and business partners. If any problems come up, let the Director know right away so they can be handled.

Health/Emergency Procedures

A dancer’s health is a top priority. It’s normal to feel sore muscles for 1–4 days after class. Eating fresh, healthy foods and staying hydrated every day helps maintain good health. Avoid fast or heavy foods, artificial sodas, or snacks before class. If needed, the director will provide an ice pack. In case of an emergency, the director will call 911 and direct the student to the nearest hospital, Valley Baptist Medical Center, 1040 W. Jefferson St., 956-698-5400, and will immediately contact the parent via WhatsApp to inform them about the student.

Photo Consent and Release

Once dance student, families, seasonal dance instructors or guests participate in classes, rehearsals or events, and/or attend any event, you are in agreement with the Photo Consent and Release.

I hereby release the photographer from all claims, demands and liabilities whatsoever in connection with the photographs. I understand that the images may be modified in any manner, and I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve any final product that uses my photographs.

I give permission to take photographs and / or video of my child. I grant full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the group's aims.

Release and Waiver of Indemnity Agreement

The Release and Waiver of Indemnity Agreement is electronically signed through our online portal. Once a student and/or dance parent starts participating in dance classes or events at the studio, the dance family fully agrees to the terms of the e-document.
